The first prototype of The Glass Plant has been completed.

The application has been designed to support process plants in two main ways:

Offline mode
For simulation, what-if analysis, operator training, and process understanding.

Online mode
For real-time operational visibility and continuous process monitoring.

The prototype includes:

Continuous process monitoring
A real-time view of key process variables and operating conditions.

Zero Loss concept
A structured way to identify the areas where the process needs more attention, by making inefficiencies visible and measurable.

Operator guidance
Indications for operators based on best practices, operating manuals, and accumulated process knowledge.

Shared process understanding
A common visual layer that helps operators, engineers, and management look at the same process logic, instead of separate fragments of information.

The Glass Plant is not intended to replace the DCS, APC, or existing plant systems.

It is a visibility and understanding layer designed to help people see where the plant is, where attention is needed, how best practices can support daily operation, and how Operations, Engineering, and Management can be better aligned.

For me, this is the key point:

When process knowledge becomes visible, the plant becomes easier to operate, explain, improve, and teach.
